children's dance division
Children's Dance Division, under the direction of Artistic Direction of Karen Muccioli, is a pre-professional performing company of young dancers age 11-18. These students train in ballet, jazz, modern and tap dance at the Children’s Dance Division within Towson University. The troupe is recognized as one of the State of Maryland’s premier children’s companies having performed at such venues as The Hippodrome Theatre, Mechanic Theatre, Baltimore Arena, Kings Dominion, Walt Disney World and returning again to Dance Place with Vincent E. Thomas/VTDance. These dancers have won scholarships for summer study to prestigious schools such as Joffrey Ballet, Point Park University, Gus Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago, The Hartford Ballet, Mary Anthony New York and Steps on Broadway. They have performed works by local and national choreographers such as Gus Giordano, Helene Breazeale, Dana Martin, Nancy Wanich Romita, Stephanie Powell, and Torens Johnson.
