the collective
founded in 1999, is a collaborative ensemble consisting of dancers and choreographers who have joined together to create a professional dance company. The company was founded in order to provide an environment for Baltimore’s professional dancers and choreographers to work as a group, using each member’s individual, unique voice to create and perform new works. The Collective has shared their work with audiences in Baltimore through performances at the Baltimore Museum of Art, Theatre Project, The Morris A. Mechanic Theatre, Towson University, Johns Hopkins University, Artscape, The Hippodrome, in Philadelphia, New York & at Dance Place in Washington D.C. The Collective is in residence at Experimental Movement Concepts in Baltimore, and holds weekly professional-level ballet & modern classes. The Collective’s Co-Directors are: Stacie Lanier Cratty, Michele May, and Emily Tankersley.
