senior electricity
was established in 1994 as an exercise group for senior adults. The organization integrates health and fitness concepts into the daily regimen of its members. Founding director, Kelly-Marie Berry conducts exercise/dance classes twice weekly from September to June. Senior Electricity has evolved into a demo-performance group that tour visiting homes, senior residencies, schools, churches, and hospice facilities. Located at 3001 Bladensburg Ave. NE, in the heart of Ward 5, Senior Electricity received a mini-grant in 2004 from the Edgewood/Brooklyn Collaborative. For the past five years, the group has appeared at the luncheon for seniors at the Fish Middleton East Coast Jazz festival in Rockville, Maryland and will be returning again this year.
